February Employee Spotlight: Paolo Coronel

This month’s employee of the month spotlight goes to Paolo Coronel one of our paraplanners. Paolo joined the Insight team 2 years ago with the dream of changing lives and making a positive impact to the finance industry. Paolo says, “The decisions we make with our personal finances are powerful. Having some professional direction and accountability can be the difference between seeing the full fruition of your personal goals or completely missing out on them. Being a financial professional that can help people bridge this gap is both appealing and fulfilling to me.”

Paolo enjoys supporting our team of financial planners while working towards becoming one himself. This para-planner role allows Paolo to grow as a professional while still creating a positive impact on the financial situation of clients. If there’s any advice that Paolo could give to his younger self it would be bolder and take more risks. When not in the office, you can find Paolo at Fallon Sports Park playing 5-on-5 basketball (pre-pandemic). Nowadays, you’ll find him fishing at one of the many reservoirs in the Bay Area. He’s passionate about spending time with the people he cares most about and supporting children in disadvantaged communities around the world. Together he and his wife sponsor two children (one in Mexico and one in Tanzania) through a non-profit called Compassion International. During the pandemic, Paolo got married but had to slash his guest list from 250 to 18 guests, make a drastic change of venue, and exchanged their planned Italy-Spain-France honeymoon destination for a local Pismo Beach getaway. Before the pandemic, his favorite travel memory is visiting the island of Davao in The Philippines and staying in an over-the-water bungalow next to a white-sand beach. Paolo’s secret talents include playing the guitar for 14 years and in his opinion, cooking the best medium rare ribeye steak in the East Bay area.
