September Planner Spotlight: Alex Austin

This month’s employee of the month spotlight goes to Alex Austin our newest Financial Planner. Alex joined Insight this summer after living in the Southeast.  Alex believes planning can have a transformative impact on people’s lives in reaching their short-term and long-term goals and one of the main reasons he got into financial planning. 

When not in the office, Alex does exam prep for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ national exam, a comprehensive 6-hour exam that tests candidate’s ability to apply a range of financial planning knowledge in real life situations. Alex enjoys helping candidates pass a rigorous exam.

Alex also participates in pro-bono financial planning for the CASH Campaign of Maryland which is focused on low and middle-income individuals and families to promote economic advancement. Alex recently participated in a financial planning research project in conjunction with Duke University focused on how to scale financial guidance using a high-touch, high-tech approach that helps people reduce their financial stress and achieve their financial goals.

When not doing financial planning Alex enjoys traveling around the country and around the world.
